Immigration Information Center (外国人在留総合インフォメーションセンター). 0570-013904. Weekdays 8:30 to 17:15, not December 29 to January 3. Many languages. It answers general questions about immigration and residence procedures.
Foreign Residents Support Center (FRESC / 外国人在留支援センター). Yotsuya Tower 13F, 1-6-1 Yotsuya, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
Your city office or local international association (国際交流協会). For daily life, procedures, and Japanese classes.
